West Central Transmission Project

Harnett Regional Water began construction on the West Central Transmission Project in August of 2017.  The project consists of construction of approximately 12 miles of 20 inch ductile iron waterline from Lillington to Seminole near the Lee County line along Highway 421.  It also consists of the construction of a water booster station along the route.  This project was needed to improve hydraulic conditions in this area of the County and surrounding region.  This project is estimated to cost approximately $8.5 million dollars and should be complete in the fall of 2018.

Harnett Regional Water Treatment Plant Upgrade

Harnett County Regional Water completed an 18 MGD (million gallons per day) expansion project of our water treatment plant’s capacity in late 2016.  The project costs approximately $11 million dollars and brought the total treatment capacity of the plant to 42 MGD.  The project consisted of adding four more filters, another basin, a backwash tank and various other electrical/control based improvements.  This enhancement to our water treatment capacity will allow us to supply superior quality water to our County citizens and the region for the foreseeable future.
